In the past year, I've lost 34 pounds. I signed up December of last year, prior to Christmas because my health issues resulted in some major weight gain. AND yes, some people would say that's not much for a year on Weight Watchers but honestly, I'm thrilled with it. I figure the slower I take it off, the more likely I am to keep it off. In addition, this last year has taught me that it's okay to have a week where you gain a pound because guess what; the WORLD WILL NOT END! That's right people, if your weight flux's, it's not the end of all things. In fact, it just means you are a normal human being who MIGHT have eaten a little too much salt. :-)
On top of that, I am running again. I have done a few races and am signing up to run one in March. This race will be a half marathon called the Tobacco Road Marathon in Raleigh, NC. For more information on this race visit; http://tobaccoroadmarathon.com/index.php?action=page&page_id=13
I'm not quite to the marathon level yet; in fact, I'm not sure I'm ready for a half marathon yet. :-) But, I love to run and am enjoying my almost daily runs. I ran the Virginia 10-miler in September (though, I only did the 4-mile portion of the race) and I'll be honest, I cried like a baby when I crossed that finish line. After the year and a half I'd had of barely being able to walk to my car without getting out of breath and needing to rest due to health issues, running any race was like a miracle to me. I thank God every day for the healing and strength He has given me.
In addition to the Tobacco Road Half Marathon, I'm hoping to run the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC on April 2nd. We'll see if it happens but I'm hoping for it. :-) For more information on this race visit; http://bridgerun.com/
What a great God we have. I'm going to include some pics of me ... they are not the most up to date pictures, they were taken a while back but they will give you an idea of how far I've come. The two on top, are the most recent pictures of me and the very first picture was taken in November so it gives you a true idea of where I'm at on my weight loss journey.
